What is Mindfulness?
To put it simply, mindfulness is about learning how to be present in the moment and being aware of your thoughts and feelings, while managing them healthily.
We are experiencing an increase level of stress and mental health issues. We tend to live in autopilot, rushing from one thing to another without really noticing what's in front of us. Learning to be in the present moment rather than up in our heads worrying about the past or future, helps us feel more grateful and alive.
Mindfulness helps us become aware of what is happening mentally, emotionally and physically, so that we can choose how to respond, rather than react, to life's difficult situations. We learn tools that help us take a step back, pause, accept the situation and then choose how to respond. This can be incredibly powerful in changing a situation or thought
We learn Mindfulness techniques to let go of negative thoughts, rather than letting them control us. It has been shown that after a mindfulness course -where you learn about breathing techniques, meditation, walking and movement meditations, mindful eating and a plethora of other tools- our brain network starts to change, bringing changes in mood, happiness levels, and overall well-being.

Benefits of Mindfulness
The benefits of mindfulness are endless. The importance of physical wellbeing is always promoted, including exercise and a healthy diet. However; the importance of mental wellbeing has often been overlooked until recently. Mindfulness helps improve your entire mental wellbeing, by:
All these benefits can be achieved by doing simple, regular mindfulness techniques.
Mindfulness is being carried out in a variety of places now: Many schools are teaching it to kids and are finding stress levels are decreasing. The NHS is using it, and even Corporate companies are welcoming it, as mental health in the workplace has become an increasing priority.
My clients include busy professional women, and families, who are feeling stuck or overwhelmed and found the benefits of Mindfulness very effective.
At the end of the day, mindfulness is for everyone, from those who might be feeling anxious or overwhelmed, to those feeling stuck and simply wanting more from life. Mindfulness is not difficult; it’s not a religion, and you don’t have to sit crossed leg on the floor!
Our life is shaped by our mind, for we become what we think.

As a busy working mother, juggling the work/life balance often felt stressful and overwhelming. Then, when my mother passed away, I could feel myself struggling even more. Looking for ways to take back control of my life, I discovered Mindfulness.
After taking a Mindfulness course in 2014, I discovered a deep sense of calm and peace. As I learnt to calm my busy mind, I was able to focus and be more productive in my daily life. Learning and implementing the tools of Mindfulness reminded me to be compassionate with myself and others. I felt more confident to deal with what life threw at me.
Then having decided to train as a Mindfulness teacher, I gained an Accredited Mindfulness Teacher qualification with Breathworks UK. The training took me even deeper into connecting with my inner strength, and learning important life skills to deal with life’s stresses and strains. I am passionate about sharing this with others, as they can make profound, positive changes in our lives.
Over the years, I have seen many clients benefit from my Mindfulness courses, and they are now able to better deal with their stress and anxiety, increasing their wellbeing and quality of life.
